Summer Hair Care Tips from Farnham’s Top Hairdressers

Those of you who are lucky enough to be heading somewhere hot and sunny on holiday can look after your hair with these summer hair care tips:

  • Protect your hair from chlorine:  Before you dive into the deep end of the pool, remember that chlorine dries out your hair which can lead to breakage! Chlorine can also turn your hair a slightly different shade if it reacts with your hair colour.  Make sure you invest in some of the Kérastase Soleil hair care products to remove chlorine from your hair (and rinse or wash your hair as soon as possible after you get out of the pool).
  • Prevent your hair colour from fading:  Colour-treated hair can fade in the sun so make sure to use a colour protecting shampoo and conditioner to prevent your hair colour fading.  For a stylish and protective look, wear a hat or scarf when you’re out in the sun to be extra safe!
  • Do not over-use your heated stylers:  As we’ve mentioned, the summer sun can dry out your hair so try and take a break from using heated styling tools.  When using your styling wands, straighteners or hair dryers, make sure yo use a professional heat protection spray and hair products containing UV protection.
  • Book your hair appointment at Ruby Mane Hair Boutique in Farnham:  As soon as you return from your holiday, make sure you book in for a nourishing hair treatment, a trim and a hair colour refresh (if you colour your hair).  We’ll have your hair looking as good as new in no time at all!
